What is CVE-2026-84884?

IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 contains a vulnerability where internal REST service account passwords are stored in a format that allows them to be easily recovered. An authenticated attacker with access to these stored credentials could exploit this weakness to retrieve the plaintext password and gain administrative access via REST tokens, thereby compromising the integrity and security of the system.
