What is CVE-2026-84990?

The ntopng network traffic monitoring application exposes sensitive system configuration backups to authenticated non-admin users prior to version 6.7.260718. This vulnerability enables unauthorized users to list and download backup configuration files without undergoing necessary administrator checks. These backups may contain critical data such as password hashes, API tokens, TOTP secrets, and WebAuthn credential information. Consequently, this oversight allows for potential account compromises through the retrieval of sensitive credentials. The issue has been addressed in version 6.7.260718.
