What is CVE-2026-85231?

A vulnerability has been identified in libtirpc that could allow an authenticated remote attacker to disrupt the operation of RPC services. By sending oversized wrapped data requests to a service configured with RPCSEC_GSS integrity or privacy, an attacker could trigger unbounded memory allocation. This may exhaust system resources, potentially leading to Denial of Service conditions and making the service unstable or causing it to terminate unexpectedly.
