What is CVE-2026-85254?

A vulnerability in the Apache Camel HTTP component arises from the improper handling of case sensitivity in request headers. This issue allows an attacker to bypass suppression mechanisms by altering the case of HTTP header names, leading to potential response-splitting and cache-poisoning attacks. In HTTP/2, this vulnerability is exacerbated since header names are required to be lowercase, disabling any protective measures in place. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade to Apache Camel 4.23.0 or the relevant LTS releases. For those unable to upgrade immediately, it is recommended to strip the problematic headers before they reach the Camel endpoint or manage their response within the route.

Affected Version(s)

Apache Camel 4.0.0 < 4.18.5

Apache Camel 4.19.0 < 4.22.1

Apache Camel 4.18.5
