Command Injection Vulnerability in MOOS-IvP uMemWatch Affects Network Applications
CVE-2026-85426
9.3CRITICAL
What is CVE-2026-85426?
The uMemWatch component of MOOS-IvP versions up to 24.8.1 is susceptible to command injection through the use of attacker-controlled MOOS client names. This vulnerability enables attackers to craft client names that include shell metacharacters, which can lead to the execution of arbitrary commands by the uMemWatch process. The issue arises from the insufficient sanitization of client names during command construction, particularly involving unquoted redirection targets in system calls. Users of affected versions are advised to implement mitigations and monitor for updates that address this vulnerability.
