What is CVE-2026-85445?

The MOOS-IvP framework, specifically versions up to 24.8.1, is vulnerable to a denial of service attack due to a flaw in the Demuxer::addMuxPacket() function. This vulnerability arises from the system's lack of validation for the packet count stated in mux headers, allowing attackers to specify exceedingly high packet counts. Such an action can lead to unbounded memory allocation, potentially exhausting system resources and resulting in service unavailability.

Affected Version(s)

moos-ivp 0 <= 24.8.1
