What is CVE-2026-85971?

Progress MarkLogic Server versions prior to 12.1.0 and 11.3.7 have a security vulnerability where certain log files are assigned overly permissive operating-system permissions. This misconfiguration allows local users to potentially read or modify sensitive log data, posing a risk to overall system security. While default permissions for newly created and rotated logs are corrected, existing logs will continue to retain their previous permissions until manually remediated, leaving them vulnerable to unauthorized access.
