LDAP Denial of Service in 389-ds-base by Red Hat
CVE-2026-86344
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-86344?
A vulnerability was identified in 389-ds-base where an unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit a flaw by sending an incomplete LDAPMessage. This can cause a server to incorrectly handle the connection, allowing the attacker to exhaust the worker thread pool. As a result, both anonymous and authenticated clients may experience service denial while the attacker persists in maintaining connections. This presents significant operational risks to environments relying on 389-ds-base for directory services.
