What is CVE-2026-86425?

ImageMagick versions prior to 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.x before 6.9.13-55 are affected by a heap-use-after-free vulnerability found in the Layer method of PerlMagick. An attacker can exploit this flaw by supplying a carefully crafted list of images, leading to unauthorized memory access after the deallocation process. This may result in a denial of service as the application could crash unexpectedly.
