What is CVE-2026-86736?

An integrity issue exists in Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.7.0, allowing authenticated users to manipulate the assets.requests_counter during checkout processing. This vulnerability can be exploited by issuing multiple cancel requests without any active transactions, leading to negative counts in the request counter. Additionally, users can inflate the counter through repeated duplicate checkout submissions, which misrepresents demand within the administration interface and may disrupt asset management workflows.
