What is CVE-2026-86748?

Snipe-IT versions earlier than 8.7.0 are susceptible to a serious vulnerability that allows superusers to unintentionally wipe the database when restoring from corrupted or invalid backup zip files. This flaw occurs because the restoration process does not validate the uploaded archive before proceeding, resulting in permanent data loss without any recovery or rollback options.
