What is CVE-2026-86756?

The Snipe-IT application versions 8.5.0 to 8.6.3 exhibit an open redirect vulnerability within the SAML assertion-consumer endpoint. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate SAML-SSO users into visiting malicious links, resulting in unauthorized redirects to arbitrary external URLs. The vulnerability stems from inadequate validation of the RelayState POST parameter, which, if exploited, can lead to credential harvesting via phishing attacks. Users are advised to upgrade to version 8.7.0 or later, where this issue is addressed through improved validation methods.
