What is CVE-2026-8709?

An improper privilege management vulnerability in the REST API document patch operation of Progress MarkLogic Server could allow authenticated users with a low-privilege REST role to escalate their privileges. This vulnerability can be exploited to carry out unauthorized privileged actions against the Security database, posing significant security risks to sensitive information managed by the server.
