What is CVE-2026-87818?

A vulnerability in GitPython 3.1.59 permits attackers to exploit the --no-index option within the high-level diff API, leading to unauthorized access to arbitrary filesystem paths. This flaw allows adversaries to combine --no-index with -I/--ignore-matching-lines to construct a content-dependent Boolean oracle. By leveraging this method, attackers can make repeated queries across local files, potentially revealing sensitive single-line secrets based on distinguishable success or failure responses.
