What is CVE-2026-87996?

The Open WebUI platform has a vulnerability in the SafePlaywrightURLLoader component where it fails to properly validate user-controlled hostnames. This issue allows authenticated users with access to authoritative DNS to manipulate hostname validation, potentially leading to the browser resolving to internal addresses instead of public ones. As a result, sensitive information from internal services or cloud metadata may be exposed through web searches or URL ingestion. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 0.11.1.
