What is CVE-2026-88377?

Bento4 1.6.0.0 is vulnerable to an integer underflow in its avcC and hvcC configuration atom parsers. When processing a specially crafted MP4 file that contains an atom with a declared size smaller than the expected header size, the vulnerability enables an invalid payload-size calculation, potentially leading to oversized buffer operations. This can result in passing invalid or NULL pointers within the AP4_DataBuffer handling process, ultimately causing application crashes and creating a denial of service scenario.
