What is CVE-2026-88808?

A significant security oversight in SUSE Rancher Fleet allows the Fleet agent to utilize its own cluster-admin credentials to write resources to downstream clusters, rather than using the designated ServiceAccount. This flaw is particularly impactful in multi-tenancy setups, where multiple teams, potentially with varying levels of trust, share the same downstream clusters. As a result, this could lead to critical configuration file overwrites, risking the integrity and stability of shared environments.
