Denial of Service Flaw in multipathd by Red Hat
CVE-2026-89329

6.2MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-89329?

A vulnerability exists in multipathd where a local attacker can exploit the UNIX control socket by sending valid commands without reading responses. This can cause the multipathd listener thread to block, leading to Denial of Service (DoS) conditions where legitimate Inter-Process Communication (IPC) operations may hang or time out. Notably, this vulnerability does not allow for privilege escalation, arbitrary code execution, nor does it threaten data confidentiality or integrity.
