A critical flaw in the Linux kernel's memory allocation for VRAM can lead to instability in graphics performance. The issue arises from the incorrect handling of flat CCS storage, resulting in memory being improperly marked as usable, which can lead to unexpected behaviors such as crashes and rendering issues. This vulnerability stems from a flawed scaling mechanism in the get_flat_ccs_offset() function, whereby memory meant for compression hardware may be allocated for user processes, causing corruption and system instability. Proper corrective measures involve adjusting the rounding logic in the memory allocation routines.
