Denial of Service Vulnerability in Cockpit by Red Hat
CVE-2026-91149
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-91149?
A vulnerability in the Cockpit service allows unauthenticated remote attackers to exploit it by establishing multiple simultaneous connections to the cockpit-tls service. This behavior leads to the creation of an excessive number of detached threads, which consumes system resources, including memory and file descriptors. As a result, the service can experience degradation or become completely unavailable for legitimate users, potentially disrupting operations and access.
