What is CVE-2026-91837?

A vulnerability has been identified in the iodine VPN plugin for NetworkManager, where a local unprivileged user could exploit a flaw in the processing of the 'nameserver' setting. By inserting shell metacharacters into the 'nameserver' value, a user may inject and execute arbitrary commands with root privileges before the application relinquishes its elevated permissions. This poses a significant risk as it allows for local privilege escalation, potentially compromising system integrity.
