CVE Published:

What is CVE-2026-92709?

Rsyslog versions 1.15.0 to 8.2610.0 have a vulnerability in the dynaFile facility that allows templates to generate output paths based on untrusted input. This can lead to path traversal issues, enabling malicious actors to manipulate log file paths beyond the designated directory. If a dynaFile template incorporates any untrusted data as part of the path component, it can potentially bypass intended access controls and expose sensitive information. There are currently no public patches available to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

rsyslog >= 1.15.0, <= 8.2610.0
