What is CVE-2026-92882?

The Checkmk REST API exhibits a critical weakness in its credential handling, particularly within the host and folder configuration endpoints. Authenticated users may inadvertently retrieve sensitive data including SNMP community strings, SNMPv3 authentication and privacy pass phrases, as well as IPMI passwords in plain text from the API's GET responses. This information is not shown in the GUI setup, making it imperative for administrators to enhance security measures to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive configurations.
