What is CVE-2026-92928?

The OpenEye Apex Network Video Recorder firmware version 3.2.9.376 has a significant security flaw due to the presence of a hardcoded, undocumented recovery account. This account is equipped with shared credentials that remain unchanged, disabled, or rotated, granting unauthenticated remote attackers potential access to the password-reset workflow. While this account does not provide standard administrator access on its own, exploiting this vulnerability may lead to further attacks. Users are advised to upgrade to version 3.5.4 to mitigate the risk. The design flaw has existed since at least firmware version 2.2.3.4.
