Denial of Service Vulnerability in dnsmasq TCP DNS Service
CVE-2026-93007

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-93007?

A flaw in dnsmasq's TCP DNS service allows remote attackers to exploit the fixed pool of child processes and create idle connections, occupying the entire pool. This prevents new TCP DNS connections and disrupts DNSSEC validation that relies on TCP fallback. While UDP DNS resolution remains operational, slots filled by idle connections are only released after a predetermined timeout, affecting overall service availability.
