What is CVE-2026-93687?

The Micromatch braces library up to version 3.0.3 is susceptible to a stack overflow due to insufficient depth guarding in its recursive Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) walkers. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by providing deeply nested brace patterns within the character limit, which may lead to excessive call stack consumption. This, in turn, can cause the Node.js process to crash with an uncaught RangeError, potentially jeopardizing application stability and security.

Affected Version(s)

braces 0 <= 3.0.3

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
