What is CVE-2026-94046?
A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in the ACE-MCP tool up to version 4.10.8. This weakness exists in the get_file_snippet function of the getFileSnippet.ts file, where improper handling of user-supplied input allows an attacker to manipulate file paths. Specifically, the argument projectRootPath/filePath can be exploited to escape the intended directory structure, allowing unauthorized access to files outside the designated project root. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely with public exploits available, further exacerbating its potential impact. Despite the project maintainers being informed of this issue, no response has been noted as of yet.
Affected Version(s)
ACE-MCP 4.10.0
ACE-MCP 4.10.1
ACE-MCP 4.10.2
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
