What is CVE-2026-94640?

A vulnerability has been identified in the rpcbind service, which can be exploited by a remote, unauthenticated attacker to trigger a Denial of Service (DoS). This can occur when an attacker sends a multitude of unique requests, causing the rpcbind service to maintain an unbounded in-memory list of previously unseen RPC request statistics. As a result, this persistent memory growth can lead to increased CPU utilization, ultimately degrading service availability and resulting in potential outages.
