What is CVE-2026-95859?

The libp2p-rust networking stack prior to version 0.49.5 contains a vulnerability in the Gossipsub protocol that allows an unauthenticated remote peer to exploit GRAFT control-message handling. The vulnerability enables the attacker to send novel topic hashes without verifying prior subscriptions, leading to unbounded memory growth for each connected peer. This unchecked accumulation can eventually exhaust system memory resources, resulting in a denial of service condition. The issue has been addressed in version 0.49.5.

Affected Version(s)
