What is CVE-2026-96739?

A vulnerability has been identified in SEMCMS up to version 4.2 related to the upload_json.php file in the KindEditor Upload Interface. This flaw allows attackers to manipulate the imgFile argument, facilitating cross-site scripting attacks. These attacks can be conducted remotely, enabling attackers to execute malicious scripts in the context of a user's browser session. Consequently, users could be exposed to unauthorized actions or data theft. Despite early notification to the vendor regarding this issue, no response has been recorded.
