What is CVE-2026-97335?

An improper authorization issue has been identified in Canonical LXD affecting versions 5.0.0 and later. Authenticated clients with permissions to create custom storage volumes in a project can issue crafted requests that enable them to read and copy custom storage volumes from any project on the server, including accessing sensitive snapshots and configurations. The vulnerability arises from the failure to validate source types in requests, which can expose sensitive data across different projects.
