What is CVE-2026-97362?

HFS2 versions 2.4.0 and earlier are susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to disrupt service. By sending a specially crafted request, an attacker can cause a serving thread to enter a busy loop, leading to a complete unresponsiveness of the file server. This results in a persistent loss of availability, requiring manual intervention from an administrator to restart the service.
