What is CVE-2026-98113?

The Linux kernel's ksmbd component has a vulnerability allowing authenticated clients to create multiple structurally valid but unmapped SIDs within a DACL. This flaw leads to excessive logging of mapping failures, potentially generating hundreds of error messages from a single request. To mitigate this, rate limiting has been implemented to control the frequency of error messages generated, thus preventing the kernel log from being flooded and ensuring stability for the system.
