What is CVE-2026-98346?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel’s cfg80211 module can result in a crash when the netdev associated with a wireless device is NULL. This occurs in the function cfg80211_calculate_bi_data(), which improperly handles checks for the radio mask of netdev-less wireless device structures. By inverting the order of checks, it can prevent crashes during operations involving beaconing interfaces, ensuring that stable and secure wireless communications remain unaffected.
