Kernel Vulnerability in Linux Affecting RDMA and EFA Driver
CVE-2026-98430
What is CVE-2026-98430?
This vulnerability in the Linux kernel relates to improper handling of IRQs during the management of admin completion and async event queues in the RDMA/EFA driver. The IRQ handler improperly accesses these queues due to a lifecycle management flaw, which occurs when the driver registers the IRQ prior to queue initialization and fails to adequately manage resource destruction when freeing the IRQ. This could lead to potential system instability or exposure during the IRQ request and removal lifecycle. Proper initialization of the queues should occur with interrupts masked, and appropriate device resets must be implemented upon any failure during IRQ registration to maintain system integrity.
