What is CVE-2026-98835?

The Linux kernel's Kionix KX022A driver contains a vulnerability related to improper array boundary checking. When converting a register value into an array index, the driver mistakenly considers the size of the array as a valid last index. The issue arises because the last valid index should be one less than the array size. If left unaddressed, this flaw could potentially lead to out-of-bounds accesses, compromising the integrity of the kernel. The vulnerability has now been rectified to ensure that the system correctly exits the operation when the computed index exceeds the valid range.
