What is CVE-2026-98902?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's md/raid5 subsystems allows for improper comparison of stripe batch sequences due to 32-bit sequencing wraparound. This flaw could lead to data integrity issues by misinterpreting newer sequence numbers as older ones, resulting in potential data loss during processing. The vulnerability has been addressed by implementing a wrap-safe calculation method, thereby ensuring correct sequence comparisons even when the sequence numbers wrap around.
