Linux Kernel Vulnerability Affecting DWMAC1000 and ODROID-HC4
CVE-2026-99188
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2026-99188?
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the DWMAC1000 driver can lead to a soft lockup and potential system hang during Wake-on-LAN resume operations. The issue arises from improper reading of the RGMII status interrupt, which goes unnoticed due to changes made in previous commits. When the MAC is reset during the resume process, a storm of pending interrupts occurs, overwhelming the system and leading to watchdog resets. This flaw has been demonstrated to impact devices such as the ODROID-HC4 and Helios64, with significant differences in resume success rates when the patch is applied.
