What is CVE-2026-99244?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's running of process management can lead to improper handling of signaling through the TIF_NOTIFY_SIGNAL flag. This issue occurs when the flag can be set again after being cleared, causing kernel_wait4() to fail to sleep and return an error when signal_pending() is true. To mitigate this, a no_notify_signal guard is implemented so that the pid namespace reaper can correctly wait until a child process exits or is freed, ensuring proper functionality of system resource management and enhancing stability.
