What is CVE-2026-99264?

The Linux kernel's io_uring component has a vulnerability that arises when handling network communication buffers. Specifically, during a retry process for receiving data, the kernel fails to appropriately commit buffer memory that is partially consumed. This oversight can lead to situations where memory allocated for one request is inadvertently shared with another, resulting in data being overwritten. Consequently, applications can receive inconsistent or corrupt data due to this mismanagement, particularly in scenarios involving incremental buffers or multi-buffer bundles where MSG_WAITALL behavior may not be correctly enforced.
