What is CVE-2004-1883?

Ipswitch WS_FTP Server 4.0.2 contains multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities that could allow authenticated remote users to execute arbitrary code. This occurs when a large error string is generated by the ALLO handler or when excessively long hostnames or usernames are inserted into replies for the STAT command during file transfers. Exploiting these vulnerabilities can lead to unauthorized access and control over the server.
