What is CVE-2018-9392?

A vulnerability exists in the MediaTek GPS hardware where a possible out of bounds write occurs due to a missing bounds check in the get_binary function within data_coder.c. This flaw may enable local privilege escalation, requiring system execution privileges for full exploitation. Importantly, the vulnerability does not require any user interaction, allowing for potential unauthorized access to system-level functions.
