Unauthorized API Access in Gitea Prior to Version 1.8.0
CVE-2019-11576
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2019-11576?
Gitea versions prior to 1.8.0 contain a flaw that allows users who have completed their two-factor authentication (2FA) enrollment to authenticate via the API without needing to provide the required one-time password (OTP). If an attacker is aware of a user's credentials, they can exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to the user's account, undermining the security framework intended by the 2FA mechanism.
