What is CVE-2019-12498?

The WP Live Chat Support plugin for WordPress prior to version 8.0.33 contains a vulnerability where certain REST API calls are accepted without proper access controls. This lack of the wplc_api_permission_check protection mechanism allows malicious users to send unauthorized API requests, potentially leading to unauthorized actions within the plugin's functionality, compromising user data and system integrity.
