What is CVE-2020-36730?

The CMP plugin for WordPress, developed by NiteoThemes, is vulnerable to authorization bypass due to missing capability checks in several functions. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to potentially access sensitive information, such as reading posts and exporting subscriber lists, as well as disabling the plugin altogether. As a result, the security integrity of websites using versions up to 3.8.1 is compromised, leading to significant risks if not addressed.
