Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability in KeyShot by Datakit Software
CVE-2021-27488
What is CVE-2021-27488?
KeyShot versions v10.1 and earlier contain a vulnerability within several Datakit Software libraries, including CatiaV5_3dRead and Step3dRead. These libraries fail to adequately validate user-supplied data when processing CATPart files, potentially leading to an out-of-bounds write beyond the limits of an allocated data structure. This issue opens pathways for an attacker to execute arbitrary code within the context of the application, which could jeopardize the system’s security and integrity.
