What is CVE-2021-38553?

HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise versions 1.4.0 through 1.7.3 are affected by a vulnerability that allows excessively broad filesystem permissions on the underlying database file associated with the Integrated Storage feature. This misconfiguration can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data. The issue has been resolved in Vault and Vault Enterprise version 1.8.0.
