Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Wireshark Analyzers Affecting Multiple Versions
CVE-2021-39922
What is CVE-2021-39922?
The buffer overflow vulnerability in the C12.22 dissector of Wireshark versions 3.2.0 to 3.2.17 and 3.4.0 to 3.4.9 enables attackers to execute denial of service attacks. When such packets are processed, they may overwrite memory space, leading to application crashes and potential data loss during network analysis operations. Users are recommended to upgrade to the latest patched versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
