Improper MFA Configuration in HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise
CVE-2022-30689
5.3MEDIUM
Summary
HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise versions 1.10.0 to 1.10.2 contain an improper configuration of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) during login processes, particularly following server restarts. This oversight could allow unauthorized access by failing to enforce MFA requirements as intended. The issue primarily impacts the Login MFA feature introduced in these versions, while the separate Enterprise MFA feature remains unaffected. Users are advised to update to version 1.10.3 or later to mitigate this vulnerability.
