What is CVE-2022-50958?
The Jetpack plugin for WordPress version 9.1 is susceptible to a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This occurs when attackers exploit the post_id parameter, enabling them to inject malicious scripts into URLs that target the grunion-form-view.php endpoint. By manipulating this parameter, unauthenticated users can execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the browsers of unsuspecting visitors, posing significant security risks to WordPress sites.
